Breaking Boundaries - ACMP 2016 Change Conference

June, 2016

This year, three of our Chapter members (Susan Rudman, Susan Baldwin and Fiona Prince) attended the ACMP 2016 Change Management Conference.  This year’s conference was held in May at the Gaylord Texan in Dallas and well attended from a global perspective. it was very valuable to chat to others from the UAE, Australia, Africa, England and several different States across the US, as well as our Canadian peers (we were well represented!) on how they are tackling some of the same change challenges that we are. Click here to read more...

Let's Talk - A conversational approach to Organizational Change

March 16, 2016

ACMP and CMC partnered to bring Dr. Dawn-Marie Turner who explored, using appreciative inquiry and her guided conversation technique, how a conversational strength-based approach to change can prevent resistance and build the readiness needed to create higher levels of organizational change capacity. One of the most common reasons for organizational change is to solve a problem. Leaders analyze the problem, define the solution, and proceed to implement. For the change-recipients, this type of change is almost always associated with a sense of loss. Sustainable and healthy organizational change happens when you focus on strengthening the organization and creating a new normal. In “Launch Lead Live: the Executive’s Guide to Preventing Resistance and Succeeding with Organizational Change”, Dr. Turner described conversation as one of the most powerful but undervalued tools leaders have for enabling healthy and sustainable change.
